  Natural Listings
  Natural listings refer to the non-paid list on search engine results pages, as opposed to the paid or sponsored listings (e.g. Google's Adwords), and are composed using the search engines own algorithm.
1. Where does your company feature in the natural listings in Google?
  Type in your company name, at what position do you appear? (eg 3rd)
  Type in your main brand/product name, at what position does it appear?
2. How well optimised is your site?
a. Type in your main area of operation e.g. surgical products, clinical care, cardiology etc., at what position do you appear?
  How many competitors appear above you in this list?
  Put yourself in your customers’ shoes – think of a key word they would search for if they were looking for a product you sell. Type in this key word - at what position do you appear?

This is a Pay Per Click (PPC) programme of advertising in which sponsored adverts appear on the right hand side of the Google Search page in conjunction with specific keywords or phrases.

  An important way in which Google calculates your position in the natural listings is through counting the number of legitimate external sites that link back to your website.
4. Type in the following phrase in to the search bar - link:www.yourwebsite.com (See example) Look at the blue bar directly above the natural listings. How many websites link back to your site?
